Relationship between placental weight, birth weight, maternal biosocial characteristics and placental-to-birth-weight ratio

Background: Although routine measurements are taken at birth, the derivable benefits from their interpretations have not been maximized in care of newborn. 
 Aim: To determine relationship between placental weight (PW) maternal biosocial characteristics, birth (BW) and placental-to-birth-weight ratio (PBWR) on immediate follow up newborn.
 Methods: A cross-sectional study involving parturient who had singleton deliveries ≥32weeks gestation with comparison parameters, PW, BW PBWR. Deliveries <32weeks gestation, multiple incomplete placenta were excluded study. Data was retrieved institutional registry; data management included determination mean values individual parameters using SPSS version 21.0.
 Result: Among 8645 participants, PW 589.2±146g it increased age. The age a decline 35years, PBWR declined until 30years rise afterwards. parity, till fourth delivery when began to but did regular pattern parity. gestational while 36th week, 37th 42nd week 43rd week. educational status booked participants higher lower compared unbooked women.
 Conclusion: is central index for interpretation detection associated abnormalities suggestion neonatal follow-up.
